Export smooth, watermark-free videos from your Figma prototypes.

Protween produces visibly smoother exports than a screen recording — no cursor, no editor chrome, no dropped frames. Buy once, use forever.

Screen recording

Same Figma prototype, captured two ways. Left: a screen recording at native playback speed. Right: a Protween export of the same flow.

Features

A focused tool for one job: turning Figma prototypes into clean video.

Protween skips everything a screen recorder can't help with — the cursor, the editor chrome, the dropped frames — and delivers the file you actually want to share.

Frame-perfect smoothness

Protween's purpose-built rendering pipeline lands every animation frame in the final video — visibly smoother than any screen recorder, even on long, complex motion sequences.

No watermark, no cursor

Activated exports are completely clean. The output is the prototype itself, full frame at its actual canvas size, with no recording UI or in-app chrome bleeding through.

One-time purchase, no subscription

Pay once. The license is verified locally after a one-time activation, so your purchased version keeps working even if our servers go offline — and there's no renewal email waiting for you next year.

MP4, GIF, and WebM

Choose the right format the moment you export — video for presentations, GIF for chat, web-friendly clips for product pages. Resolution doubles to 2× when you need higher detail.

How it works

Three steps from Figma to a file you can share.

1

Run the Figma plugin

The free Protween plugin checks whether your prototype is supported and shows the result without leaving Figma.

2

Open in Protween

One click hands the prototype off to the desktop app — Protween picks it up automatically, no copy-pasting URLs.

3

Export smooth video

Pick the format, frame rate, and duration you want. Protween produces a clean, smooth export to the folder you choose.

Built for these prototypes

Best for linear flows and auto-playing animation prototypes.

Protween shines on prototypes you'd play start-to-finish — a walkthrough, a feature demo, a smart-animate loop. For many-hotspot prototypes where the export needs to follow a specific branch, auto mode will pick one path; choose the starting frame intentionally.

Honest scope

Prototypes that embed Lottie animations or video elements are detected at import and clearly labeled — we don't pretend to export what we can't capture reliably.

FAQ

Questions before you buy.

Is Protween macOS only?

v1 ships for macOS 12 and later (Apple Silicon and Intel). Windows support is on the post-launch roadmap; check back here for updates.

Do I need to log into Figma inside Protween?

No. Protween opens public prototype URLs without any Figma account credentials. The URL itself carries everything needed to render the prototype.

Is there a trial?

Yes — and it's unlimited. Without a license you can export as many videos as you want; every export carries a small “Made with Protween” watermark in the corner. Buying once removes the watermark on every export.

What's the refund policy?

You can request a refund within 3 days of purchase if the product cannot be used as intended — for example, the installer fails or exports do not complete on your machine. Read the full policy in Refund Policy.

Which Figma prototypes work best?

Linear walkthroughs, smart-animate transitions, and auto-playing animation prototypes. Prototypes that use Lottie or embedded video elements are detected and disabled at import — Protween will tell you up front rather than produce a broken export.
